Can a Sow’s Ear be turned into a Silk Purse?
We challenged radio creators everywhere to rewrite commercials for the 2005 “winning” clients. Every participant received a free 60-Second Copywriter CD & workbook (17 one minute techniques for better radio).
The rules were simple:
Rewrite the spot(s). Pick your favorite, or try all three! Try to achieve the same goals the advertiser wanted to reach in the original spot.
You can use any style - humor, drama, serious, emotional, slice of life, single or multiple voice, dry or with music and SFX. Just make them effective, compelling radio.
Pretend an account executive said to you, “Here’s what they did last time. Now they want something a lot better.”
A panel of experts will choose the best rewrite for each spot. If yours is chosen as the best transformation of a Sow’s Ear into a Silk Purse, you’ll be rewarded big time!
The creators of the best Silk Purses would get hundreds of dollars worth of benefits like publicity, free production of your winning script, free consulting and a free voice-over from Jeffrey Hedquist - a total of $2,725 in services and priceless publicity for their efforts.
Dozens of writers competed, the decisions were close, and these are the victors:
